took it back.......2007-12-18
My daughter loves our canon hand held digital camera so we thought we'd give her a camera of her own for Christmas. we gave it to her the beginning of the month, the quality of the camera is terrible. it feels very flimsy and not very durable for a kids camera. we are taking it back today and giving her our canon and getting us a new one. it was terrible trying to figure out the buttons, we actually had to get the book out to figure out the options, still couldn't get the date set. Not happy at all.
Great for kids, but eats through 2 batteries a day!.......2007-12-09
We got this for our 6 year old daughter, who uses my fairly advanced camera and is pretty proficient for her age. It is ok. She loves it, says things like "I must be dreaming! I can't believe this is my own camera!" and just snaps all day. So I do think it is a great gift for a little girl. As far as it being a "real" camera...the photo quality varies, for apparently no reason. It eats through 2 AAA batteries in one day. The delete function is hard to use. I really can't recommend it as a camera, but it is an awesome toy camera.
Don't buy this camera........2007-12-03
We bought this camera for our daughter. It locked up completely after a month. We shipped it back to the manufacturer for replacement. They did replace it- with a camera with a cracked screen. We have been trying to reach them, but they do not answer phones or respond to messages. Garbage.
Nice Camera.......2007-10-23
I ordered this camera for my daughters ages 9 and 12. I think it is a good price for a 5 mp camera and I am sure the girls will love the color. I only gave it 4 stars because we have not used it yet as they are Christmas gifts. But honestly its a childrens camera how bad can it be...

It's an Ok Camera.......2007-12-01
This camera is ok. it takes the picture and the quality is ok. i love the size and color, that was the reason i got it. i havent had any problems with the battery life. All in all this camera is okay, i would recommend it if you want just a simple easy to use camera!
Horrible waste of money.......2007-11-29
This was my first digital camera that I bought without doing any research. The first thing I noticed is that is was hard to review the pictures. I had a hard time manipulating the menu. I had to keep reviewing the manual. The battery life is short even with auto turn off set to 2 minutes. The LCD screen became increasingly dark to the point where it was impossible to see. I took a few pictures anyway and they were very dark. This is an awful camera. As I do research for my next camera, I see other people have had lemons as well and were able to send them back. Definitely buy a camera with a warranty and save the receipt until you've had the camera awhile and tested it in all lighting situations.
Cheap! the price says it all...........2007-09-14
I got this camera for christmas and 4 months later it was already broken! I barely would use it too. The pictures looked horrible, you can never the lighting to look right. Even if you try every different setting, it is always either too bright or too dark. this camera is cheap and thats all there is to it. If you want a cheap camera thats exactly what your going to get with this camera. My suggestion, by a more pricey camera with a warranty, its way more worth it in the end!
Junk.......2007-05-26
I needed a quick and cheap camera for a vacation -- this was a huge mistake. In fact, a mere two months later, I've had to buy a nicer camera. I guess one gets what they pay for.
The display is so dark, it's nearly impossible to see what you're shooting at. It takes so long for the picture to show up, you wonder if you took the picture at all. The battery life is horrible.
At least the money went to a good cause.
My First.......2007-05-18
This was my first digital camera. Very easy to use. No problems downloading images. Glad to Support Breast Cancer Awareness.

BEWARE: Shoddy construction and noisy videos.......2007-12-08
I've owned this camera about 1.5 years. I've used it lightly-moderately and gently. Originally I was plenty happy with it. Nice pictures, nice video, good speed. The video always had constant very-noticeable gear noise as the lens continually refocuses, but otherwise it was fine. After a few months the lens stopped retracting, but that was fixed with some patient jiggling. So far, still ok.
But JUST after the warranty expired, the video function stopped working altogether. The whole camera freezes (crashes) and I have to remove the battery and reset the time/date and all other settings. And I noticed that 4 of the screws fell out! This camera has been gently used; it still looks new. Except the front face is now threatening to fall off.
At this point, the snapshots still work fine, though the battery life has become pathetic. I'm now shopping for a new camera, and I'm depressed to see that virtually every camera has major design/support problems (despite hoards of obliviously glowing reviews). What the hell?
I've captured a lot of good times with this camera........2007-11-12
I bought it because it was small, didn't need extra batteries, and looked cool. Of course that means I had to sacrifice some in terms of picture quality, but thats okay. I don't ever plan on getting prints bigger then standard 3x5.
Buyer Beware .......2007-07-11
I bought this refurbished directly from Kodak. A week after I received it the lens stopped retracting when I turned the camera off. So I sent it in for repairs to the outside company which does all of Kodak's repairs, Precision Camera Repairs. Later I received a letter saying the camera had "impact damage" and was not covered under the warranty. I went rounds with both companies. The repair center kept telling me I needed to discuss my problems with Kodak, while Kodak was telling me it was up to Precision Repair. After calling around for days I got nowhere. After giving in I paid $122.95 for repairs. Now after having the camera for just over a year it's broke again! The ok button has stopped functioning, I am unable to delete photos and format the memory card. Making the camera useless because the photo capacity is full. This camera is cheaply manufactured by a company that does not want to back up their products.
Good camera, BAD software.......2007-03-10
We've enjoyed this camera except for the week where the lcd screen wouldn't function. It started working again the day I was going to send it off for warrantied repairs. The camera is stylish and takes very nice pictures for the price. It also is really handy for taking videos. They actually come out pretty good. I would purchase it or something similar again. The idea of the printer dock is very handy. In theory it is a fantastic product but needs some bugs worked out to make it really good.
I do have some difficulty getting the printer dock to print from my laptop and end up having to unplug and replug it and generally mess with it for longer than I would like.
The worst part is the software. It will not save a video correctly. It is over simplified and there really isn't much you can do to edit pictures. Sometimes it won't allow you to correct red eye which seems like a basic function. I HATE the software and am in the market for something else which is an expense I wish I didn't have.
Great Camera, only a couple short-comings.......2007-02-09
The camera is a great little machine! It's so tiny you can tuck it in your pocket or purse without sucking up serious space.
Most of my pictures are clear & sharp. The sport function ROCKS. It was the fastest one I tested when I bought it (1.5yrs ago) I have pictures of my daughter in mid-air jumping out of a swing.
The shot-to-shot refresh is non-existant (in most fuctions, except the nighttime or fireworks settings). As soon as you take one shot, you're ready for the next. This was a big bonus over my last SONY digital that took about 4-5 seconds to refresh.
My primary complaint is the zoom & flash range. They both fall VERY short of what I need. I was in the 6th row at my son's graduation in an auditorium & wasn't able to get a clear shot. They were all muddy & dark. The same held true at my daughter's gymnastics meet. Any distance at all & you've lost the clarity. The zoom almost always turns out shaky looking.
I'd recommend the camera however.

One more flaw..........2007-12-17
Besides the fact that it has no light, I found one more flaw. This might be my own misunderstanding-- but I have not been able to erase what's already in my memory now. Once the memory is full, you must get transfer cables and transfer to your hard drive or file-sharing software.
Otherwise, good camera. Not a whole lot of filming time but great for mini-videos for Youtube or Myspace or any other short you like. There is a mic and internal audio so you can skip and cue to your desired point and watch directly on the mini-monitor (in color). Also light weight and durable. Easy to operate.
Pretty good camera.......2007-05-14
The Mustek 5MP is easier to use than almost any camera ive seen. I have mp3s stored as well as songs ive written on guitar, the movies are good if ypou have a mempory card to store the longer ones. The camera is great, except that it lacks a flash, other than this, I highly reccommend it.
