Almost perfect.......2007-12-14
The keyboard is perfect, mainly considering the layout of the keys Insert, Delete, Home, End, Pg Up and Pg Down. This is one of the few keyboards which Microsoft did not do the stupidity of changing the layout of such keys, keeping the classic design of a keyboard. Moreover, it is slim, comfortable, beautiful and economic in terms of battery. On the other hand, the mouse is quite heavy and uncomfortable. What I am doing is to use it with my notebook mouse, an Optical 1000, which can be synchronized with the same RF base. The base itself could be just a dongle, instead of something unreasonably large and wired, which more looks like a space ship. If you do not care about this no sense base and a heavy mouse, the keyboard is perfect.

In a few words, frustrating, aqggravating and prone to cause errors. Its going back into the box and back to the store. If allowed, I would give it zero stars.
My daughter wanted my other wireless keyboard, so I bought one of these to replace it. I had trouble reliably selecting things with the mouse with a single click. Often, I had to click things several times to make it select and/or open an item. I checked the MS website and upgraded the driver. After rebooting, my virus protection warned me of a program that was requesting internet access. Lo and behold, the mouse software was requesting internet access. Given that there is no way to turn this off, I renamed the mouse updater executable so it could not be launched.
With further use, I found that both the keyboard and the mouse tend to fall "asleep" (I guess to conserve battery) and will buffer some portion of the input til they "wake" up. Since they may take several seconds to awaken and in my frustration to get them to do something, I would click with the mouse too much and/or type the same key many times to get it take the input. This leads to errors, miscues and a frustrating experience.
Nice ergonomically; very poor signal quality.......2007-10-17
I've used keyboard & mouse for 1 week, & really like the feel/ergonomics & basic functionality of both. However, the wireless signal is so inconsistent & problematic (essentially "freezes" computer for 30 sec. to 2 minutes) that it renders keybd & mouse unusable. I have no other wireless devices that could interfere, & MS tech suppt. is unsure what problem could be (I live in a house w/ fairly large lot, so neighboring wireless signal interference is not likely). It will work w/ little or no problem one day, then the next day I'm unable to go more than a couple of minutes without significant problems. So, not usable for me. I'm returning for a wired keybd & mouse so that I can be productive (that's the idea, right? (-: )
The best keyboard I've ever used!.......2007-09-20
I purchased the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3000 keyboard and mouse for my home pc and fell in love with it immediately! I knew I wanted the same keyboard and mouse for work but we have Apple computers there. I assumed that the Microsoft keyboard and mouse wouldn't work very well with the Apple computer, but the box said that some of the media keys would work and it would work with iTunes. My supervisor told me to try it out. EVERYTHING works with the Apple computer! It's wonderful! My supervisor liked it so much she ordered one for herself. The comfort curve is a wonderful ergonomic feature. It's much more comfortable for me than the traditional ergonomic keyboards. I couldn't be more thrilled with a keyboard and mouse.
Not ready for primetime.......2007-09-06
Once again, Microsoft has released a hardware product that doesn't seem to have gone through any sort of quality control. The big problem I experience with this keyboard is that some of the keys need a good pounding before they work. It may have to do with the "spill-proof" lining inside. Control, delete, and a few others require significant pressure, and even then don't work at times. I bought this to replace a coffee-damaged "Microsoft Natural Ergo Keyboard 4000," which was itself sub-standard, with keys that stick, especially the space-bar. This is the last Microsoft hardware product I will purchase. They should stick with what they do best: software.

The memory stick works great. I simply installed it into an open memory slot, and turned on my computer.
The computer instantly detected the memory as expected and now my computer runs more smoothly with the added memory.
By the way, this memory provided by edge tech corp, is made by A Data.
I have yet to receive a memory stick that fails :=)

This gift was purchased for a five year old, but his dad enjoys using it, too! Good for a starter- craters on the moon are sharp and clear. Great size, quality and price for someone younger.
