Better than the competition!.......2007-08-19
Prior to my purchase of this item, I hat a Targus Chill Mat. I wasn't happy with it's cooling, there wasn't enough air flow, and when I'd put my computer under a heavy load, it wouldn't cool it enough.
This was able to keep it around 10 degrees cooler than the targus one under a heavy load, but only after I added some rubber dots to keep my notebook about 5mm above the cooler (only in the back).
Before I added the dots, it was about the same as the targus one, which has the dots naturally.
Even when idle, the Evercool cooler was able to keep the internal fan speed lower, as well as the temperature.
It fits perfectly with my 13" Widescreen MacBook, even allowing some room to move it back and forth, to position the fans right. It also feels more sturdy than the Targus chillmat. It's a must have for gamers, or editing movies.

Pros: Light weight, On/off switch, four fans, high-low speed. The four fans offer a wider cooling area than other cooling pads. I have a dv2000 HP which has vents for the hardware that most pads do not consider.
Cons: A little louder than I expected. The four fans do not run at a whisper at its highest speed but it's not loud enough to be a nuisance. I do not think they are ball bearing fans which are much quieter. The plastic casing is decently built but the horizontal vents are a little flimsy.
I've been using the NP101 for at least a month and haven't had any problems with it. In my opinion, it works great. I took a lot of time comparing other cool pads and ended up liking this one.

This is a great product. It has a very low profile as well as is very effective at keeping my notebook and my lap very cool. I would suggest that if you have a notebook computer that this would be a great additional purchase. Why pay so much for a notebook computer than lose it to heat. The cost is one of this products best feature. It is relatively quiet and very effective at keeping the computer cool.

Well, I thought that this product would cool down my notebook, but I think it only had a marginal effect, and that was only when the fans were at maximum speed.

Pros: Price, Works really well in keeping my laptop cool, 4 fans, on/off and fan speed switches, low sound
Cons: Feels cheap, doesn't fit on my laptop that well, small for larger laptops, fans are weaker than my old cooler
Overall it is a pretty nice cooler. Even though the fans are weak, there are 4 of them and it still does a great job cooling my laptop. This cools better than my old cooler. The laptop moves alittle bit on it but not enough to annoy me to not use it plus I have a big XPS laptop so it would probably work better on smaller ones. For the price, it is a good cooler pad! This pad keeps my GPU from the red zone which my other cooler could not do. I'm really happy with the performance of this cooler!
