Really does work..........2007-11-21
I just got this product today and it has worked amazingly well on my laptop. The underside of my laptop can get so hot to the touch that it nearly burns (way to go, Dell). I've tried all sorts of things to cool it off, aside from getting a laptop cooler, because the few people I know who had one said that they didn't really work. However, this one started working immediately and now, 8 hours after plugging it in, the underside of my laptop isn't even lukewarm at worst, during high performance and while playing games.
The fan does make some noise, but that's kind of to be expected when buying an extra set of fans for a computer. Perhaps someone already had mentioned it being comparable to a desktop computer fan, and that's about as loud as it gets. If you listen to music, watch TV or have any other sort of noise in the background, most likely you won't even notice it. If you prefer to work in absolute silence, this could bother you, but good luck finding a laptop cooler that works this well and is silent, especially for such a cheap price.
The aluminum frame has a slight upward angle towards the back end of the cooler. It's raised up probably 1.5-2 inches and has an open bottom with two fans appearing to suck hot air away from the computer and out. It can be set on the lap and used, although it's a mildly uncomfortable way to use it straight on the legs... Putting some sort of hard object underneath it should fix the problem.
My computer is 17 inches and it fits really well, since it has some little gripping pads for the underside of the computer.
I would suggest this to anybody, especially since before when I was going to buy a Targus laptop cooler they had a warning on the front of the package stating that it contained a significant amount of lead (!!!), which is not anything you want near you or your lap on a regular basis. It really works, and is particularly useful for using your laptop on your lap.
EXTREMELY Noisy.......2007-09-21
PROS: Does excellent job of cooling. Completely stops notebook's internal fan from kicking in (at least on my HP Pavilion dv6405us). Perfect fit for 15.4" widescreen notebook. Fans can be easily replaced since they're completely exposed and not inside a closed casing, but see below for caveat. On/off switch is very sturdy; it's the same kind of switch found on the back of desktop PCs' power supplies. Pass-through USB cable comes in handy.
CONS: *EXTREMELY* noisy. The constant loud droning from the two fans is unbearable. I had to waste more money buying another cooler to replace this one because of the noise (unfortunately the other cooler - Targus PA248U Notebook Chill Pad - was yet another disappointment). This is not so much a notebook cooler as it is a notebook stand that just happens to have cooling fans, so it works well only on a tabletop, not on your lap or other soft surface. It's too large to easily fit inside a notebook case - the back end is over one inch tall. As for easy fan replacement, that's true, but the fans have non-standard connectors; they're not like what you'd normally find on a standard PC fan sold at any computer store.
BOTTOM LINE: Unless you can put up with loud fan noise and you don't care about taking it with you on the go, look elsewhere.

I've a Notebook Compaq R3000 P4, and it is a Boiler!!!!... I was very worry for the heat produced, and I Bought This cooler and works very good... It keeps my computer cool! My comment is that you are limited to used only one USB Port; without external AC/DC adapter, Unless you could find this adapter in the market to connect in the USB cable of the cooler... I didn't found this...

I just received my 44202 stereo microscope. It's just amazing. You can use it from the very first minute. If you want you can see one of the prepared slides right out the box, or any of the familiar objects at home, and you will discover a fascinating new world, hidden from your eyes.
My kids and I have used it to see a lot of bugs, spiders, flies, flowers, etc. The x20 factor is the best for 3-D viewing, while the x40 factor is best suited for flat, smaller objects like slides, stamps or similar.
The controls operate very well and allow an excellent level of command.
I have found that this microscope is solid, stable and easy to set-up.
I am very pleased to recommend this microscope.
