Bad Keyboard.......2007-12-11
Could be great if the keys didn't stick. If you are looking for an HTPC keyboard for rare use since you'll be using a remote control 99% of the time, you might be able to put up with the keys. Otherwise, I would have junked this thing a long time ago.

I love this thing, but over time, the keys get stiffer and stiffer. I started using two fingers occasionally to press the keys. I'd love for it to work right - it's perfect for my use, but it's now in the closet.
The key for a living room PC setup!.......2007-11-21
I got this product from Woot a while back and since have integrated my PC with the HDTV in the living room. This keyboard is the glue that makes it work because without it, you can't interact with the PC.
It's not perfect. The mouse is slow and imprecise and it requires a two-handed operation. It might have been better with an integrated trackball or a touchpad, but it does work and it's sufficient for most "living room" PC tasks. What we use it for is primarily web-surfing/internet lookups, e-mail, and videos/multimedia. Since it is in the living room and uses the TV screen (we have a 50' Sony LCD projection HDTV), we can run it at 1280x1024 and still see it from the couch (about 10-15 feet away).
I've tried using it for the universal remote features and it doesn't really do that well. We have DirecTV and I really haven't found any universal remotes that do DirecTV well. (And I haven't spend the $70+ on the Harmony remote, so I don't know about that one.) So the IR blaster feature on our well-used keyboard really doesn't get used much.
The keyboard is RF so it works great in the many non-line of sight situations I have in my living room with the wife, a baby, and a 10-year old. [Get out of the way, kid!]
I really enjoy being able to sit out in the living room with the family while my wife reads and the kids play and then point out some cool website or video from the internet that they can see then go back to whatever they're doing.
We do not use it for games. I don't think the keyboard would really be good for games, but we just don't do computer games much. (That's what the XBOX and Wii are for!)
The 'o' key is very flaky. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It sounds like a common problem with this keyboard. It used to work great but after a while it's just having problems.
Pros:
* Easy to use on your lap from the couch
* Integrated mouse
* Wireless (obviously)
* Rechargeable with nice charging base (which sits under our TV and is only used for recharging)
* RF so it doesn't need to be pointing at the base
Cons:
* Mouse is slow and imprecise
* Keys get stiff and sometimes stop working

key problems occured in 1 month. (especially ctrl, windows key, alt key, and lots of regular keys) now its totaly gone. same problem with two of my friends , gone in 2~ months.

Great keyboard for my HTPC.......2007-06-20
This is keyboard I always needed for my home theater pc. Its very easy to setup. Has tons of shortcuts and features besides being radio wireless. I can also control couple of my other devices using IR. Has inbuilt charging feature for a pair of AAA rechargeble batteries. So there is no constant battery changes. Charges last a long time when out of the base unit. Mouse is integrated in keyboard, so thats one less device to manage. In short a great wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I will recommend this to all my friends. This product is well worth its money.

Total disappointment.......2007-12-24
I bought this hanycam a week ago and it sucks! When you take pictures with a tripod it looks blurrier than my antique canon i bought 2 decades ago. And also the flip screen with constance use it will no longer be able to keep in the same place, very annoying when your filming and moving at the same time. Please contact me if you know how to get a refund!!!

Pretty impressive camera. The HD recording and playback is astonishing. As noted in some other reviews, good light is a requirement. Poor lighting will leave you with a grainy picture which is a little disappointing. This seems to be an issue with most of the HD camcorders out there so it wasn't a big issue for me. Still far better than SD cameras.
The ability to record to Memory Stick is awesome. Memory sticks are pretty cheap today but do not get anything less than 4GB. this will give you about an hour of record time. No noise, fast playback and quick searches
The included battery gives you about an hour of time. Get yourself a extended battery.
The camera is extremely light and fits your hand perfectly. All of the controls are easily accessible. As noted in some other reviews, camera will shake a lot so use 2 hands. It is very light.
The software works flawlessly for me via Windows XP. The one touch "burn disk" button also works as described. The included AVCHD player will play your transferred files on your computer, you do not need to burn to disk first. I have also played directly from memory stick via PS3 which also worked well.
The night vision works well too.
Overall, I will highly recommend this camcorder. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the low light graininess. Overall, well done Sony.
awesome performance and image quality.......2007-12-06
This camera works great, its memory stick duo performs way better than hard drives, flash, tapes or anything in the market. Very easy to download to a computer and work with the image files. Still pictures are of good quality too! You do not need to carry a camcorder and a digital camera, this device is both! My only complain is that, as it does not have a viewfinder, it should be smaller, though its size is convenient to put in a coat's jacket.

This is my first camcorder purchase and I am extremely surprised how simple this camera is to use!
I got an 8gb mem stick as well as the NPH70 battery as recommended by previous reviewers.
If you have a Mac, Imovie works great. You don't need the camcorder attached to the laptop. You can take the memory stick and put it in a card reader and then transfer to your computer.
Hard for me to gauge quality b/c i have no reference point but the best setting HD (XP) looks incredible.
You will not regret this purchase.
Some Details.......2007-11-17
Hi-def recorded resolution is 1440 X 1080 (not 1920 X 1080).
Hi-def records in four different bitrates from 5Mbps to 15Mbps. SD records in three bitrates: 3, 6, and 9 Mbps.
SD resolution is NOT reduced to half at the lowest bitrate, like some other Sony camcorders do. 3Mbps is 720 X 480, though I think SD is always 520 effective horizontal lines.
If you record in HD, you can play it back as SD using the analog cables. One of the cables is component output. So if you have a DVD recorder with component input, you can get the full 720H resolution on DVD this way.
The included software will allow you to convert HD to SD, resulting in approx. 8Mbps bitrate. Unknown whether this retains full 720H resolution.
Recording at 5Mbps in HD, and playing back as SD looks excellent, like it was recorded at 6Mbps SD. Thus, it almost makes sense to always record in HD. You can always convert it later if needed.
No eyepiece viewfinder, and no neck strap. Does not come with any memory! The manual says it does but the box does not.
Included software can generate an AVCHD-DVD, which will play on AVCHD-capable Blu-Ray players. Also included is a software player for these discs, but it requires a FAST computer. The player will not play videos from the hard drive; they must be on DVD.
