It is a very basic memory card based video camera you can put in a plastic camera bag and have an underwater video camera for very few $$ and little lost if disaster strikes. Do not expect great resolution.
Great Digital Video Camera for under $75.......2007-06-10
There is nothing that compares to this camera for the money. It is the lightest video camera I have ever seen. The quality is good in both camera and video modes. This is great for tranfer to DVD, as it includes all the cables to hook-up to a burner. Overall, Polaroid has hit a homerun with this small wonder!

This camcorder is very light. At first, I felt like it was too light, thus making it more "cheap in appearance". Well, the only ugly thing I can say about it, is the fact that it does appear rather cheap in appearance. But now for the good news... the fact that it's so light, makes it more mobile. Perfect for little functions. Easy to carry around. Video quality is really good for this low-cost unit. You'll be surprised.
Overall, it's a keeper...
PS, from what I can tell. Battery life is good considering. I've been messing with it, original batteries. So far, so good.

this item is very small which is not a problem however it is very light and looks very cheap. I had to return this item because there is no audio. It really looks like something you would give to a liitle child.

Nice for the money........2007-04-01
This is a nice compact set of binoculars for almost no money. OF COURSE the digital camera portion gives mediocre quality. Duh! Anyone who buys something like this should already know that 0.3 megapixels doesn't give you high-res images. But if you want to zoom in on something (e.g., birds or attractive beachgoers) and be able to send a halfway decent photo over the Internet, and if you want to spend less than $60 to do it, you'll like this device. By the way, it captures the image almost instantaneously, unlike my 3 megapixel camera, so if you push the button while it's aimed at a dolphin, you'll actually get an image of it rather than a ripple in the water where it used to be. And FYI, the package info tends to imply that the camera works only with PCs. Not so. It it completely Mac compatible. Just make sure you use a USB port on the CPU--you'll get an error message if you try to use the spare keyboard jack.

My CV-1 was a gift, and came to me as a complete surprise. If I'd known there were something like it out there for the price, I'd have been wanting one already. A medium-priced, medium-featured digital camera is automatically interesting to me. Getting a nice pair of binoculars, and having them serve as sort of a "scope" for the camera, is icing on the cake. As the manual warns, the picture doesn't quite line up with what you see in the binoculars. You'll have to learn how your unit works, and adjust for it. Details will be much sharper through the binoculars than in the digital images. You'll have to manage the not-included AAA batteries yourself (rechargeable with separate charger, or alkalines), as there is no provision for charging a battery in the camera. Having said all that, it's really great to have a camera with a relatively long (telephoto-ish) lens, aimed with attached binoculars, and producing decent pictures that download easily, all for such a modest price.

It works fairly well as binoculars, but not at all as a camera. If my hand shakes, which it always does because I am not at all a steady person, your picture is blurry. All of the pictures that I took were blurry. The video does not record sound, which I probably should have looked up beforehand, however. What you see out of the two lenses is not what you will capture in your picture. I was taking pictures of my brother's face, just for testing, and it only got the top of his head because that is where the camera lens is-- above where you look out. I do not know if I should have known that as well, but I did not and wasted my money on this thing! I wanted to bring the Captureview to a concert, but I know for sure if it is this is bad of quality it bright daylight, it will definitely be worse in the dimness of a concert stadium... In addition, I will be moving around a lot more over there. Overall, this is a somewhat good item if you are looking for binoculars, though you can get binoculars cheaper and better than this. I wish I had had a review to go off before I bought this though. Now I will try to return it. I hope that it works and I can get my money back.
