I was having problems with my two yr old Logitech Mx510 Optical when playing a Pogo bowling game which I really enjoy. I didn't know if it was the program or the mouse so figured I would get another mouse to give it a test.
I live in rural area, and with the price of gas, etc, wanted something real cheap just to see what was the problem.
Well, I couldn't really believe my eyes when I saw this mouse for less than 4 bucks so how could I really lose.
Got it home today, hooked it up to a USB, no software to contend with, didn't have to download a thing and I was in business, but most importantly my bowling game works great now.
Yes, it is a roller ball, and I will get order another optical mouse from Amazon as soon as I finish this, but how can a person go wrong for the price....

I bought this mouse to replace my worn-out Sun mouse for my Sun computer. The mouse and keyboard hardware protocols are the same for PC or workstation platforms (Windows/UNIX/Linux/Mac). Special features and keys are always a function of the software for each platform. If you want basic 3 button operations, this mouse will work on all PC/workstation platforms. If you want special features, you will need to check the software available for your computer's platform. This mouse has special software for the Windows platform. Since I don't use such features, I can't comment on that aspect.
I don't believe the description mentions it, but this mouse is not an optical one; it uses the original "ball" technology. If you like that technology, then you will love this mouse. It works perfect on all my Windows, Linux, Sun, and Mac computers. The cabling is an ample length. The ball control for the mouse is very precise for excellent fine movement control. The buttons work great and are positioned well, even for someone, like me, with large hands. The buttons are very responsive and have great tactic feel. The buttons have a slight springy sound, but that is no reflection on its performance -- only a bit humorous (I guess if you're also a geek :-)).
Overall, this mouse is excellent with no flaws. Unless you need wheel control or optical sensors, this mouse is an excellent choice at a great price.

Don't make the mistake I did..........2007-12-07
I had to leave a review for this, to warn others... I bought this at Wal-Mart, for $120, and it messed up, on the third day. I took the kids to the local Fair, and the camera froze, while still open... wouldn't close, wouldn't take pics. It has since done this, several times, and always right when I want to get the perfect shot. I have to take the batteries out, over and over, and push on the zoom part of it, and, eventually, it retracts, and will work, again... The screen also goes black, and the camera makes weird sounds. This is a well-taken-care-of camera, too, so it's not being dropped, or mishandled (except to get the darn zoom back into the camera!!). Another thing: the battery life is truly terrible... Be prepared to change them, VERY frequently, even though it will show you the symbols for full battery life... Suddenly it will tell you 'Low Battery' and it will die... I gave this 2 stars because it does take good pictures... when it finally works. It's slow, though. You're ready to snap, and it won't actually take until several seconds later, when everyone is blinking, or turning their head, by then.
I love cameras, and I thought this would be a good one, but I wish I'd bought another Fuji Finepix. That was my first digital camera (4.0 megapixel), and I should have bought their Fuji Finepix 8.0 megapixel, to replace it. My Fuji worked GREAT, for over 2 years. This Samsung sucked, right from the get-go, and I'm more than disappointed that I spent my money on crap. Please don't make the same mistake... I recommend the Fuji.
