I bought this product inorder to install it on a computer that was to narrow to accept full width network cards. From day 1 this device has given me problems. For starters it won't even stay seated in the USB port which causes my computer to be on the network at one moment and off the other. The device is also somewhat flimsy. I don't recommend it at all.

I bought this unit for DVD storage. There is plenty of room for us and fits well in our family room. It is what you would expect of a unit you have to assemble yourself. My daughter and I put it together so it's not that difficult.

I returned the item because it fell apart as I was attempting to put it together - cheap, compressed wood by-products and card board. Even though I did receive a full refund after it was returned, I would not recommend it to anyone else. I was able to find a solid wood and better made shelf from another vendor.
Lacks structural integrity........2007-01-24
I ordered this unit to store my DVD collection, which is currently just under 300 titles. It has definitely helped to keep my media organized.
I like that the height of the shelves can be adjusted to fit CDs, DVDs, or even clamshell VHS cases. If the shelves are set to the height of a standard DVD box, the unit will fit five rows of DVDs -- there will be a sixth row that is about the right height for standard CD jewel cases. At this height, you will have leftover shelving and hardware (the shelves are held in place with metal dowels) that I assume would come in handy if the unit were used for CDs, as you could then accomodate more rows of shelves.
The unit isn't difficult to put together. My only issue with the piece is its cumbersome distribution of weight. It's quite top-heavy. I actually had to screw picture framing hardware to both my wall and the back of the unit and tether the unit to the wall with wire to get it to stand upright. Before I did so, it would not stand straight on my carpeted floor with anything on the shelves. For the price, it works well and looks fine, but if you aren't prepared to do some engineering to hold the thing upright, it probably isn't the best product to buy.
Perfect CD/ DVD rack.......2007-01-21
My husband and I have about 1000 cds/dvds/videos and we had previously stored them in boxes, shelves, and wherever we found space. When I found this online, I thought it would be a great substitution. Well, it fits perfectly in our media room and now we have extra storage space. You will not disappointed with this purchase!

Didn't know what I was getting..........2007-02-14
Not knowing what I was buying, I thought I was getting a video capture card. Not so -- apparently you need a video capture card to plug this card into. I write this as a warning to others who may be thinking they are getting a video capture card. I'm sure it is a good item, but not what I wanted.
