Great Design - Poor Quality and Performance.......2007-09-01
Was really looking forward to this keyboard as it would free me from wires & I do much better with a trackball. If it had only worked! Followed the manual directions, such as they were, & it didn't work. The lights lit up but nothing else would function. Had to get my computer geek son-in-law to set it up. He said some keys were sticking. I started to use it but it got stuck on number lock. Again, followed the erroneous directions & nothing. Wrote the supplier & they sent correct directions. Then the board quit; wrote again but they didn't seem to want to solve my problems. I sent it back. Again, great design - trackball in the middle of right side &ifree: RF Wireless Keyboard with Optical Trackball not all black - Wish it had worked!

Keyboard is smaller then my laptop... Wow that was a surprise.. The trackball where kinda cool, is real hard to roll, I am hoping that it gets better with time. I like it because I can pack it with my laptop but it takes some getting used to.. There are lots of great short cut keys, and the install was super easy... The range is good and dosnt cut out like my old wireless kept doing... I have plenty of wireless this and that, blutooth this and that for it to compete with.... Over all, it was worth the money and I would buy it again...

nice simple media center "remote".......2007-01-10
first, i bought this for a media center "remote control", which i think has much different requirements than a typical keyboard.
this item serves the role well. it's very compact and light. because of the keyboard size, you wouldn't want to write a novel on it, but the idea is that you won't be typing much to your media center PC. same goes for the trackball. for me, the fact that it's built into the keyboard and i don't need to worry about losing it behind the couch or finding a flatish surface was very much more important than overall ergo. the trackball works fine, but again, you wouldn't want to use it for heavy mousing.
RF reception is good. the item claims 15m. i can only say it works fine at about 3m. keep in mind that there are two range classes for wireless keyboards. 10m and up, and 3-6 feet. a lot of cheaper wireless keyboards claim only 6 or even 3 feet. 3-6 feet it pushing it for any sort of media center PC.
the USB connector is a dongle, and an additional very short USB cable (maybe if the dongle doesn't fit because of cramped space). i put the dongle on the rear USB connector and it still gets fine reception, although i imagine that cuts down on the total range.
this item comes w/ driver software if you want to use the hot keys (volume, pause, mail, etc etc etc). my assumption is that these only work for windows IE, media player, etc (which i do not use) so i didn't bother. other than that, windows xp recognized it with no addition driver installation.
i can't speak for the durability or battery life as i just tried this out yesterday. the overall quality seems not so bad. i didn't expect super high quality.

Lightweight but Sturdy.......2007-05-25
I REALLY like this monopod. I am 6'1", 235lbs and this is my first monopod. It is very light, but it was plenty sturdy for use as a walking stick on the trails in Arches NM. It was great as a monopod for a Canon S2, plenty of length for my height. A Sony A100 DSLR was a little heavy for this monopod, but it was still usable. Highly recommended for relatively light cameras.
