Disappointing mouse, and not worth the money........2007-12-28
I was looking for a bluetooth compatible mouse for my new laptop, and the store I went to had just this one. It was more then I wanted to pay, but it has a great look and design, I liked the trackball feature and I've been happy with other Kensington products.
I took the mouse home and I had numerous issues getting it installed. I'd get it installed then hours later it wasn't recognizing the mouse for some reason. This happened quite a bit, but I don't know if I can fault this to my laptop or the mouse.
The look and design of the mouse is very cool. It's nice and compact, but I really think it's too small for everyday use. I prefer a little more substance, when you can feel the mouse in your palm and you don't have to rely strictly on your fingers, which gets tiring.
The scrolling ball is far too loose and fast for my taste. I much prefer the simple rubber click wheel which I think is easier and has better control.
I really liked the idea of the trackball feature but using the small ball with your finger tips is unnatural and gets uncomfortable after a while. Plus it's very odd using the trackball then clicking the buttons.
I really wanted to like this mouse, but I will be returning it to the store and getting a more traditional and cheaper bluetooth mouse.

After three weeks, the battery level meter still hasn't dropped. I put in a pair of Energizers, and they really are "still going". While I've only remembered to turn it off overnight about half of the time.
I would have preferred a full sized mouse with a middle button and a couple of thumb buttons. But this didn't promise any of those features. And those are still my only disappointments - so that's about me, not the product.
It's a simple, two button, Bluetooth mouse, with a trackball in place of a scroll wheel. Or it's a two button trackball. Switching between is a simple double-click of the function button. I'm not much of a trackball fan, so I have only used that mode a little, but it seems fine. Bluetooth connectivity (with my Acer Ferrari) has been flawless. No drivers or other software to install, and I like the moderately high resolution - it means less movement across my limited desk.
It's very portable - I've almost lost it in my notebook bag a time or two. And even in my big hands, so far it has not been uncomfortable - unlike other "notebook" or "portable" mouses I've tried.
I hope they add a full sized counterpart version, with additional buttons (there's room for a true middle button) but until they do, this one's keeping me pretty happy.
Shortly after posting my review, I decided to take out the Energizers (still going!) and see how it would do with rechargeables. And I've been even less concerned about turning it off overnight. It clearly has a 'sleep mode' of its own even when I disabled my computer's power management; I've noticed it may take a fraction of a second to wake. It's been over ten days on 1.2V NiMH cells (freshly charged just before I put them in), and finally the gauge is showing one less segment than the max. And that's with 1800 mAh Duracells which have "been around the block" a few dozen times already. Impressive battery life.

Was using a standard USB trackball on my MacBook Pro while working at my desk, but it wasn't very portable. Most wireless trackballs out there were all pretty bulky. Finally broke down and got the Apple bluetooth wireless mouse, but could never get used to the strange right-click and the squeeze side-buttons.
Saw the Kensington bluetooth combo trackball mouse. Absolute dead-on fit for what I needed. Paired easily with Mac OS-X Leopard. No extra software needed. The trackball and mouse-click action is smooth but you may want to change the mouse tracking to slow it down a bit. You double-click the flush top button and it switches from laser-tracking mouse to regular trackball. Very clever. The trackball is a bit small and pretty sensitive so probably not for painting free-hand use. But the small size keeps the overall bulk down. Also nice that it uses two AA batteries--easy to replace on the road.
In mouse-mode, trackball acts like a scroll-wheel (except you can also track side-to-side). The only improvement that comes to mind is some sort of indicator so you can tell if you've left it in mouse or trackball mode. However, I suspect most people will pick one mode and stick with it.
So far, very happy with it.

Simple put; I've been waiting for this product. I travel a lot and have tried every design on the market. This is the best combination for full on desktop mouse and handy travel mousing. Great battery life, flawless connection and solid construction.

This is an amazing product and has definitely increased my productivity. The ability to pan the screen left, right, up, and down with the trackball, all while controlling your mouse pointer like normal, is fantastic. This makes spreadsheet work so much faster. And, as with all Bluetooth devices, connection is a snap.

I would hate anyone else to fall into the same problems we have had with this camera. Especially because this product is intended for a child, they will be so disappointed if they receive this horrible camera.
We bought this for my daughter to take on a field trip with school. Thankfully we tried to download the software and use the camera before she went on her trip, otherwise we would have had one disappointed little girl to have taken so many pictures that we can't get off the camera!
We will be looking into a much better product or just a standard camera for her trip. The unfortunate part is the distributors already have our money and that's all they care about, rather than delivering a good product. I can't stand corporations like this one, SO DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CAMERA!!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE THEIVES!

When the batteries die, all the pics are lost.
The camera continues to use battery power unless it's plugged in with the USB cable.
The instructions say that when I plug in the the USB to my Mac, the pics will automatically transfer -- doesn't happen. I can't even get my computer to recognize that the Hello Kitty camera is plugged in. I would try the PC, but when I opened the clamshell packaging with scissors, I cut the CD - oops. The Website has not be helpful to date.
So far, we lost my daughter's first round of pics, and I can't view the current round.
don't buy this camera. Also, kids like being able to see the pics immediately. Get a camera with a display. This one doesn't have one.

This item should be taken off the shelves. Had to buy a precision screw driver set because the screws holding the battery compartment shut are so small. Terribly difficult to operate. Terrible pictures! I got my money back and paid an extra $25 fot the Fisher Price Kid Tough Camera...my three year old can operate the new one easily and is taking very good pictures with it. The Fisher Price model also has an lcd on the back to review your shots and accepts SD memory card...spend the extra cash!
