frankly terrible........2007-06-13
i'll keep this short and sweet. the northbridge fan goes from noisy, to seizing after a few months, and replacing it is almost impossible because finding a low enough profiled fan is next to rediculous. now the capacitors are bulging, and to avoid a reformat i can only buy this piece of junk again so that it can last me another year or two. avoid this mobo at all costs!
As advertised.......2007-05-03
I bought this motherboard because of the Athlon CPU I wanted to buy. I've had no complaints in the last....6 months that I have been using it. Computer works GREAT, it's fast, and thanks to the quality components that I paired the mb with, I don't have anything but good marks for this thing.
Good mobo.......2007-01-27
I just bought this mobo with Athlon64 3200+ and installed XP on it. It works flawlessly. I do not even need to tweak the BIOS. The mobo seems to be well made. All the capacitors are of Japanese brands. Definitely No cheap Taiwanese capacitors, which fail after 2-3 years (my Abit KT7A-Raid, Epox 8KHA+ and my friend's ECS mobo all died within 3 years due to blown capacitors. Abit even recalled some of its KT7A).
However, there is an issue with its chipset fan. It's one ball and one sleeve bearing fan, which generally last only one year. Moreover, the fan's unique shape made finding a replacement impossible.
Unreliable.......2007-01-25
I own two of these motherboards. Both PCs I built them into are having problems after several months. I've swapped out components over and over and it's obvious the motherboards have issues. One machine freezes randomly during POST, the other shuts down with no notice every 24 hours or so. I will never buy another MSI product again. 0 for 2!

Last of the 939........2007-01-14
Get one now, before they're gone. I installed a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+, 2 sticks of 512mb DDR400, nVidia 7200 PCI-e graphics card. It runs perfectly. I had a little trouble installing drivers, but MSI's website is good, they had everything I needed.
Good motherboard, not so great service.......2006-11-13
A few days after the 30 day warranty expired from Computer Brain the PX Express Slot died, they wouldn't take it back and so I had to deal with the manufacturer directly. I had to pay to ship it back to MSI, they replaced it and then sent it back to me. Overall the board works well, but the service hasn't been wonderful
Supreme!.......2005-10-09
This MOBO is really supreme. It's given me nice performance and quality. By the time of this review I have it
built with: Athlon 64 3200+ working with the coolest ULTRA heatpipe, (planing to upgrade to Athlon 64 X2),
1GB OCZ EL DDR400 PC 3200 Dual ch. Platinum memory, an average pciE video card (planing to upgrade to nVIDIA
geforce 7800GTX) and Two smooth hard drives ( 1 ATA 133 7200 rpm & 1 SATA 150 7200 rpm, and planing to upgrade
to Raid 0 soon ) and not to mention my DVD R and CD R beauties...
This Baby has plenty to give. It allows extreme Overclocking for every Pc Enthusiast, but I won't be getting
into this 'till I have my combo complete!!
About Design, it's cool and sharp and has everything just in the right place, so this baby is a state of the art
mOBO talking about confort. And I specially like an isolated PCI slot that is intended to be used for advanced
com devices ( like wireless).
So that's it
Right Choice.......2005-08-12
This board is excelent. All devices work like a charm and it's good looking too, for those of you who mod cases and all that.
I upgraded from a MSI K7N2 Delta (the premium type, ILSR I think) and this one got most features the other one had with the notable exception of dolby audio and firewire (which I didn't use in the first place) and the plusses of more SATA ports and SATA/PATA RAID (nvRaid).
Something important to note: plan ahead the kind of expansion cards (TV cards, controllers, sound, etc) you're going to use with this or any other amd64 mobo, specially regarding 64-bit driver availability. My TV card for instance, A MSI TV @nywhere Master, doesn't have 64 bit drivers yet for Win64.
In any case, you can still use a 32 bit OS and it'll run perfectly, you just won't be using the amd64 to it's full potential, but still you'll have a quite speedy 32 bit system, due to the outstanding memory controller of this babe.
Little note on 64-bit OSes: WinXP for x86-64 is, IMHO, not a too smart choice at this time. Either stick to 32-bit XP, wait for Vista (aka. Longhorn) or if you know how to use it effectively, install Linux. Ubuntu works very good on this setup, sans minor driver/kernel hiccups, you know, the usual kind.
The other major components I'm using on this setup along this mobo are a MSI GeForce NX6600 (not the gt type), Athlon 64 Venice 3000+ and 1024Mb (2x512Mb) of Mushkin PC3200 blue line memory @ CL2. All works great.
Performance-wise, it beats the stuffing out of my former setup, which was the MSI K7N2 Delta mobo, Athlon XP 2500+ Barton, 1024 Mb PC2700 CL2.5 and a GeForceFX 5700
For the price, this Mobo is a lot of bang for your buck, and I totally recommend It.

Customer Reviews:
Great case for the underwater diving enthusiast.......2007-06-24
Just finished taking this underwater camera case on 14 dives in a row in the Sea of Cortez in Baja. Case came through without a hitch. One of the main reason for me getting the DMC-01 (or updated "07") is the fact of the underwater camera case. We regularly went down to 60 feet on each of our dives. The case regularly got knocked about on the boat and the usual impact stresses of entering and exiting the water from the boat. Also the case got knocked about on the rock or coral repeatly while drifting along in some strong current dives. Case came through like a champ - surprisingly no scratches and more importantly no leaks! The wide angle lens of the camera really comes in handy for scenic shots. And it performed great on close ups on sting rays, dolphins, sea lions, sea snails, sea slugs, coral, various typical reef fish, star fish, etc. etc.. The underwater setting on the camera is a good start for the beginner to moderate diving enthusiast, the camera also gives you great flexibility in adjusting the exposure and white balance underwater to give you the best chance of getting good shots. There is even a setting that will take 3 photos automatically at different exposures so you can pick the best shot! If you are a hard core photographer, the case is built to give you the flexibility to add a boot and larger photo strobe flash which is a great feature in case you really get into taking photos underwater.
The best feature was being able to take movies underwater - unfortunately the movie setting doesn't have the ability to use the underwater filter setting but it is still pretty cool. We got movies of various wildlife and whales underwater and dolphins leaping around the bow of the boat above water - everyone on the boat was completely jealous that I had this ability - of course now I have to burn DVDs for everyone on the boat!
The upkeep on the camera I guess would be typical of any underwater case. In the beginning it seemed a bit of a chore but seeing the underwater pics and movies more than made up for the trouble of caring for the case. We followed the instructions to the tee which are to submerge the case prior to inserting the camera for 3 minute to test for leaks, never had any. Then after you get out of the water, you are supposed to soak the camera underwater in fresh water for 30 or more minutes. We did this by filling a ziploc bag with fresh water and leaving it in the sink. You are also supposed to spend a few minutes while the camera is soaking pressing all the buttons to ensure no salt or other debris is left on the housing. Once you get used to it, it's not as tedious as it sounds. All in all - the case worked great and should last a long time given the abuse it went through on this last trip.
A couple tips:
1) One thing to note is that there is this silica gel you are supposed to use each time you use the camera. The case comes with 5 so if your dive trip is longer - like ours was - go buy more silica gel ahead of time so you have a fresh package to use each time (that's what the instructions tell you to do - our divemaster says you can use it a couple times if you want with no problems - but since it's our camera and our money we didn't want to take the chance).
2) The divemaster told us part way through the trip to help the case last longer is not to do an entry with the camera case - but have someone hand the case to you after you enter the water - that way there is less impact on the case over time and less chance of the hard impact of your water entry of someone opening the case.
