It includes 4 high-capacity 2800-mAh rated batteries at 1.25 volts. Ni-MH batteries are lightweight and can be charged or discharged at any time without developing so called memory effect, so they never lose their ability to hold a full charge. Another plus: they are environment friendly.
The SB-252 charger charges each battery separately and has four indicator lights to track each battery independently. The SB-252 also includes a car charging kit.

The built-in sliding flash has a guide number of 14.7 (ISO 100, m) and an operating range from 0.6 to 6.5 meters at the 38mm zoom setting. The flash can be set to fire automatically in low light or backlit conditions (with or without red-eye reduction).
