With this kit, the colors in 480i mode are better than the composite cable that is included with the XBOX.
However, if you want to run your XBOX in High Defination (HD), buy another product. When I set my XBOX to 480p, the text and color are horrid than composite cables. Setting it to a higher resolution such as 720p is equally bad. Though games runs smoother in progressive mode, 60 frames per second as oppose to 30 fps in interlaced, the image is just too ugly to tolerate.
It's a acceptable product running at 480i and I'll keep it until I find a better replacement

Unfortunately there was only one review when I bought it, and it was an overall good review (expane).
I was happy at first as visual experience was much better than my 480i signal. I switched xbox to 480p still looked nice and crisp, the movies/games played good.
Switching to either 720p or 1080i practically introduces blur and edges on pictures,text etc. I am not sure if this also happens with Original Xbox HD kit.
I am currently trying to make sure if this is Arsenal specific or thats how Xbox looks on 720p and 1080i. With reviews on other boards looks likely that its an Arsenal issue.
BTW I used Optical Audio and Monster Component Cables for hook this up to my receiver and a 37" Vizio LCD TV getting Audio/Video output from Onkyo SR504 receiver.
Gave it 3 stars because this price/quality is still the best, if you are trying to get 480p/Optical Audio.

I recently purchased a high definition television and decided to pick this item up, primarily due to the low price and the availability. Unfortunately, the picture that I got with the Arsenal connector was unsatisfactory. The picture was too fuzzy and blurry, much worse that the S-Video connection that I had used previously. I tried several different pairs of component video cables, but to no avail. I found a cheap, multi-system high-definition connector at my local video game store and it works just fine. I'll be returning the Arsenal kit to Amazon.
Flawed signal but 5.1 sound for the OGXBOX.......2007-01-17
I have left my original review but added these observations.
The signal is flawed, I can't tell if its the out of the box cables or the converter box, but there is noticable blurring of text at both 480p and 720p. I have tested NCAA Basketball 06, The Hulk UD, Medal of Honor EA etc...
Yet again a 3rd party gets it wrong, at least it "looks" like it was working for a bit, but the blurring text makes the cable worthless.

Microsoft discontinued the original HD pack for the OGXBOX sometime in either 2005 or 2006, possibly earlier. Since then finding a HD pack has become very difficult as most amazon marketplace/gamestops/ebays have poor quality generics/3rd party or very over priced USED first party components.
My original MS branded box was stolen along w/ the XBOX a few years back. At first I was using the Madcatz brand universal component outs and they were working great. Unfortunately there is no 5.1 for XBOX on those cables and eventually, like all things madcatz, it went from working perfectly to just not working.
I tried the Monster brand OGXBOX cables, not only were the obscenely overpriced, you need a monster branded toslink cable to get 5.1 sound and the design was poor. The connection pins were set too tight and did not fit my TV or HD system selector.
Enter Arsenal. For under $20 they deliver a replica of the original MS design with something that looks like a port/switchbox.
I replaced my only working 5.1 connection (gamestop generic) that worked about 70% of the time w/ the arsenal. I immediately noticed the image problems from the generic were gone (greening the picture) and everything looked great.
The box comes w/ some suspect quality component cables in the box, not a bad deal for $15 but not high end component cables. They do work however and are working fine for me atm.
The only complaints I have - where the monster brand were too tight, the arsenal brand cables are extremely loose. Make no mistake, loose cables still work, where as tight cables like monster can damage your system if you try to force them on.
Basically if you can't find the HD pack from MS or don't want to pay $50 for a $15 piece of hardware, arsenal has your answer.
Via divine inspiriation arsenal saw there was a distinct lack of HD for OGxbox and filled the gap w/ a quality product.
