This is a great laptop satchel but it didn't fit my Sony 17". One end of the laptop I can't for anything get zipped up at the top, let alone get the laptop corner within the bag. I'm disappointed and will let RoadWired Skooba know. Since I don't take the laptop on flights, it works fine as it is.

I had difficulty finding the right bag for a 17" laptop. I have owned this bag for almost a year. So far, it has held up very well. I would have given it 5 stars, however, the zipper pulls are quite flimsy and I had to repair one within the first few weeks. Since then it has held up quite nicely.

With a flip of the flap, the new Skooba Skin converts from a sleek, padded laptop sleeve to a handled carry bag, or vice-versa. The latest introduction from Tenba/RoadWired, the Skooba Skin is designed to protect a computer while carried inside another bag or suitcase, or to be used on its own for meetings, classes or other times when the laptop alone is all that needs to be carried. Excellent bag - I can carry all the things I need.

Interesting product but not for everyone.......2005-10-25

After reading a lot of raving reviews for this bag I decided to give it a try when it was time to replace my old one. The bag and I have been in a love-hate relationship ever since. There are a lot of features to like about it. The material is excellent. The handle is very comfortable. It doesn't sag. Tons of space. Very secure placement of your laptop in the center of the bag. Very useful outside pockets and a great three-part zippered compartment. Somehow it feels much lighter and smaller than it is.

On the other hand, the need to open and close buckles everytime you want to access your laptop is maddening. Yes, there are oodles of pockets, but many of them are "ribbon"-style (open at top and bottom), which makes them only useful for large items. What really ticks me off is that there is no easily accessible place for pens. The loop on the back to put the bag on top of a roll-on bag is so flimsy my bag has slipped off a few times.

So while there's a lot of things I really like about this bag, I am not sure I can wholeheartedly recommend it. If you have a chance to try it before you buy, do so.

Very comfortable; huge capacity.......2003-05-31

This is an exceptional bag. I travel with a laptop and camera equipment and this bag has room for both provided I take the lens off the camera body. Everything is well padded and protected. The laptop is easy to get out quickly at security. The shoulder strap is well padded and non-slip. Many other straps slip off my shoulder. This one really does not. And the carrying handle is padded and is the most comfortable I have ever tried. I look forward to using this bag. The numerous pockets are useful along with the hidden compartment. This is the best bag I have found -- after looking at many -- for the digital age.
