VersaMount is a clamping arm with a 1/4-20 threaded stud. It will mount anywhere on the TrekPod upper or lower tube and also on most Tripod legs (0.56" to 1.16" in diameter). It is bundled with the MagMount, 1 heavy and 1 light force MagAdapter. This combination is the ideal way to mount a camera or scope low on a TrekPod or tripod. The MagMount is a ball head that incorporates Trek-Tech's unique magnetic mounting system to quickly mount / demount cameras and optical devices. Use this combination to mount a ball head down low for observing or taking pictures while sitting, or macro photography. It is the perfect solution for adding an additional place to mount a camera or spotting scope so that 2 devices or 2 people can use the same TrekPod or tripod.

a great ball-head for light-weight monopods.......2007-07-21
I got this for my Bogen / Manfrotto 790B Monopod and love it. It doesn't add too much weight for this carry-around monopod. It is affordable, with a good ball grip, and the magnetic hold is plenty strong enough for a Canon Rebel DSLR with normal lens. (it has a safety clip too.)
The VersaMount is a handy little clamp to help you clamp to all sorts of things, low on tripod legs, etc. It's a nice deal bundled with the MagMount and you can put a MagMount on the VersaMount. (tempts you to buy 2 MagMounts though ;-)

Best Laptop Cooler Yet.......2007-09-30
This is my third laptop cooler and is the best one yet. I've had it about a month and use it for a Thinkpad. What differentiates this product is:
1) Collapsible, great for portability
2) Runs on either 110 or USB power - the best of both worlds
3) 4 USB ports
4) adjustable fan speed
5) fairly quiet fans
I just leave it on my desk so the features I wanted were the 110v and USB ports. It is plastic but no worse than any other plastic model and better than average.
I hate the way many of the new coolers are USB powered. If I am mobile I want to maximize battery life, so if anything I use a fan-less cooler. And if I have access to power I prefer to plug it in. Why create more heat to cool it?

I have a Cooler Master Notepal to use with my macbook pro on my desk at home, and it is the best stand I've used, hands down. However it is a huge, pointy hunk of aluminum, which is not conducive to carrying it with me when I'm not at home. This product, Gear Head's laptop cooling pad is, if anything, slightly better at cooling my mbp thanks to the open space around the back two fans. In addition it collapses to the size of one of those 11.1" super-portable notebooks, making it easy to stuff in my pack alongside my laptop.
Unfortunately, though the cooling surface is alluminum, much of the structure of this pad is cheap plastic, and overall it does not seem quite as rugged as I'd like. Despite slightly cheap construction this is still the best portable pad I've seen, so I really can't point to one that's built better. Also, while the fan speed control is a nice touch, the fans are not powerful enough to warrant it.
Overall I'd say this is well worth picking up, especially compared to other portable pads and stands on the market. It's easy to carry, and while the construction is not as good as it could be, you'd be hard pressed to find better. It can put the keyboard at an uncomfortable level, but it's built for portability, not proper keyboard orientation. If you need a stand that's going to sit on the same desk all the time, check out the cooler master, but if you need something that will go where you go this is the best there is.
