I received the microphone without the carrying case, but I thought I could overlook that.
Less than a week after I received the microphone, it began recording voice and music very poorly. I had to take it back.

I bought this mic for my brother-in-law. He was very pleased with it. I was satisfied also for the money. I am a musicain for the last 40 years and I have had better quality mics and not so good ones. It is not as clear as I would like for a mic, because it seems to be a little muddy. But Randy really liked it and it will work out fine for his karaoke system.

I use this mike for home karaoke practice and it works great. It has good directional properties which greatly minimize feedback. I recommend it highly. It is a dynamic cardiod microphone with an on/off switch. The cord has a 1/8th inch plug on the end which can be plugged into the 1/4 inch adapter (included) if need be.

This is a high quality tripod at a very inexpensive price. It's light-weight and has a very useful quick-release function so that the you can remove the camera (while still attached to a small plate that clicks back into the tripod) from the tripod with ease. The three legs each have two separate extension poles with easy-to-use fasteners, so the tripod can be quickly adjusted to the desired height. I'm very satified with this purchase--a great value.

For the price, it's excellent. On many shoots, even after I've stopped using it as a prop, I leave the camera attached (with the monopod legs collapsed to short length) because the vertical grip gives me the second dimension of handling stability to lessen camera shake. For horizontals, this is perfect. For verticals and angles, you need a mono model with a tilt head mechanism.

don't waste your money!.......2007-08-14
I bought this kit for my Finepix S700. I was so excited for my purshase but after I got it in my hands and took some shoots with it I understood why is so cheap. Using the Telephoto 2x2 the pictures were not focus, just a little bit in the center, they were over expose (glare - ghosting), they had color distortion, etc. I rescued just couple of them with post production (among 100 shoots).
Then after my sorprise I decided to compare new shoots with this lenses and the ones that the camera brings, the resaults were clear, this lenses (optika) are c*ap.
The only thing that I keep is the back and the tripod. Well, the wide-angle lens is just ok. as well as the filters.
After my mistake (buying this kit) I decided to study about teleconverter so
I recomend for good teleconverter (telephoto) this products:

The accessory kit is a great value. The only downside was that I found my PowerShot S5 IS had trouble focusing occasionally when I zoomed all the way in with the 2.2x converter. By zooming back out, it regained focus, but that gets frustrating.

You get what you pay for, the wide angle works great, but for me, the tele lens needs an improvement in the lens quality because pictures at full zoom are blurred and it is almost the same to take a picture without it and magnify it thru software. I haven't used the macro lens.

The product is what it is...not to great on quality, but it does what it does. The lenses are poorly designed and don't give a true image for what they were designed for. Basically it's all generic stuff bundled together and works as a starter for someone just getting into digital photography. If you're a seasoned veteran, getting a new camera..SLR or something, have been using a digital camera for a little while and are familiar with quality, printing and etc...don't buy it. I have several cameras and figured...it popped up on Amazon when I was buying my S3 so why the hell not. Horrible-horrible. I own a S3IS Canon (nice camera but damn slow on recharging the flash), Canon Rebel XT and a Canon G3o!

A great pro tripod. Very sturdy all metal construction. All movong parts metal as well, great durability. Has several features that are not found in most tripods. You can mount the camera to a leg for ultra low shots and even extend and lock the legs out to 180 degress for straight down vertical shots. I have owned the original U212 since 1985 and absolutely beat it to death. Professional wedding photo's to sports coverage to video taping Christmas. Sleet, rain, snow, mud - it handles it all. With the quick adjust legs you can set it up in seconds on a major hill and be taking pictures while other people are still getting their camera mounted to the base. Make sure and order the extra quick release's if you rapidly switch camera bodies or formats. For the money, I have not used a better tripod.

I've had this tripod for about 10 yrs now and can't see myself ever giving it up! It's one of the most versatile tripods I've ever used. I've used it for video, 35mm and now digital photography and it's always been a champ.
The only downside I've seen to it is the quick release locking mechanism. As you turn the lever to lock it, it draws the quick release mount down into the head. You have to be careful not to use a camera with plastic threads or metal threads mounted in plastic, as the locking mechanism can either strip the threads of the camera or pull the threaded grommet through the plastic. I personally feel that this is more of a camera issue and not a SLIK design flaw. Otherwise it holds the camera securely to the head.
I highly recommend this tripod to anyone looking for a sturdy yet lighter weight tripod.

Most of the stuff in this kit is great. I was surprised by the quality of the camera bag, tripods, cleaner kit etc.
The only problem is that it doesn't come with the lens adapter for the Opteka wide angle and teleconverter lenses. I went to a camera store to buy one, but the Canon lens adapter doesn't work with the Opteka 2x teleconverter lens. There isn't enough room for the G7 lens to extend before it bumps into the teleconverter (and puts the camera into damage control shut down mode).
The Canon 2x teleconverter (which costs much more), is designed slightly differently so it works with the Canon lens adapter.
The Canon lens adapter does work with the Opteka wide angle adapter, but it's disappointing not to be able to use the 2x teleconverter.
Great deal for the price.......2007-06-09
I bought this item from 47th street photo for 89.95, and it is definitely a good deal. They were also very helpful in shipping, as I had to change the shipping address after ordering so my package would meet me in Hawai'i.
On to the package:
Lenses: This kit comes with two lenses, a wide angle .45x and a telephoto 2.2x lens. What the description doesn't tell you is that the wide-angle lens actually is two-in-one, with the front unscrewing to reveal a macro lens. The quality of the lenses is not surprising, considering the price, and I have yet to actually measure the effective change they have on FOV, but there is a noticeable difference. The wide-angle has some blurring around the outer edge of the viewable area, while the zoom lens introduces some noise at the far end of the zoom. The nice thing about the lenses is that they are threaded at both ends as one would find with SLR lenses (and something not found on Canon's equivalent ones!). This is something else not mentioned in the description. The thread diameters for the three different lenses (counting macro as its own), is as follows: Macro - 52mm, Telephoto - 62mm, Wide-angle - 72mm. Overall, the lenses do seem to have an effect, but don't be expecting pro-level results.
Filters: The kit comes with three filters in the 58mm size: a polarizing filter, a UV haze filter, and a color-warming filter. The polarizing filter does work (as can be noticed in the histogram as the filter is rotated), although not as spectacularly as I was hoping. The same goes for the UV filter, although it does help cut down that wonderful blue halo. As for the color warming filter, I have yet to determine if it has any effect. The quality of all three is appropriate for the price, as it was with the lenses, and they do tend to introduce some noise/blur into the picture (although you do have to be way past 100% zoom when viewing to notice). They are all threaded on both ends, allowing you to stack filters, or even put one of the lenses over the front of one (although it does change FOV among other things. A good deal for the price, as a single one of these filters could cost as much as the package price by itself.
Tripods: The kit comes with two tripods, a small 6" flexi-shafted table-top tripod that is a lifesaver when carried in your camera bag (think self-timed photos if there is no other person around to take a picture with you in it). The legs are not as flexible as some of those wrap-around tripods that can cling to anything, but they are flexible enough to be set-up on non-level surfaces and still keep the camera level. The larger tripod is a standard three-section-leg collapsible, with a three axis head. The action on the head swivel is a touch sticky, but it doesn't matter unless you are using it for film, and even then, it's not that bad. There is no bubble level though, so you are left to determine that yourself.
The other stuff: The lens/filter adapter, the metal tube that fits over the lens of the G7 to allow the different lenses and filters to be attached, is a bit loose on my camera (read: minute but noticable). I have yet to tell if it is having any adverse effects on the pictures, but it would be nicer if it fit really snuggly.
I haven't used the lens cleaning kit, but judging by what it looked like when I opened the box, its probably about the same quality as everything else in the kit.
The last final thing is the camera case. It is a nice case, but the shoulder strap is a bit odd, being somewhat crescent shaped. It doesn't fit and stay on my shoulder well. The inside of the main compartment has two moveable padding walls to change the dimensions, which is nice if you intend to use it for something else than your G7. It's got two side pockets on the sides that you could fit the lenses in, and a zippered net pocket inside the main one for your filters. There is one more pocket across the whole front for whatever else strikes your fancy.
So, overall, the package has quite a lot of things it it for such a low price, and they all do their job. If you're not expecting pro-level results, then this package would be something worth considering, especially if you want to get some experience before moving up into the dSLR world.
Canon PowerShot G7 HD² Professional Digital Accessory Kit.......2007-04-27
This kit is really good for the price. For less than a hundred bucks you get a lot of bang for the buck. The lenses are pretty good. No, they're not Pentax or Zeiss but for the price they are great. The Tripod mini and full size are fully functional and very light weight. The Carry Bag is excellent. Samsonite is good quality. The only problem I've found with this entire kit is the telephoto lens generates a camera lens error when zooming into the digital zoom...past 6x which is actually (Camera Zoom)(6x) x 2.2x (Lens)... Umm? Re-attaching the lens fixes it. Not sure if it's camera or lens problem. I am very happy with this kit. The items are all good quality and for the price this is a great deal for the beginning photographer, professionals should go ahead and spend $600 and get the higher level gear... I'm sure if you went to Walmart and bought this stuff it would cost twice as much. For the beginner, this package is super. I got this package from 47th Street Photo with no issues. Quick shipping.
Since this review was entered I've attached and reattached the 2.2x Zoom lens many time and I do not get any lens errors... A gremlin or quirk that has self corrected. This kit is excellent.
