You Get What You Pay For.......2006-08-13
For the price, this is a decent tripod. The primary reason I purchased it was because of its very small size - it can easily be stowed at the bottom of a day pack, or shoved into a cargo pocket in a pinch.
The quality and design of the tripod, however, leave something to be desired. The legs use a "twist" locking mechanism whereby you twist the leg in a clockwise position to lock it into place and twist in a counter-clockwise position to unlock it. Given the thinness of the materials used in construction, there have been several times where I've twisted the leg as tight as I thought it would go without causing damage only to have the leg collapse on me when I attach a camera.
The pan head, too, is a little wonky. I really don't like the design of it. I'm used to tripods that allow me to lock (for example) the tilt of the head, but leave swivel unlocked for panning. This head does now allow that.
Again, its a decent tripod for the money - and the size is perfect for travel or when you just need some basic stabilization to complete a shot. But if you're looking for a quality tripod that will last you for years to come, spend some additional money and get another product.

It has everything that one would want in a tripod - individually extensible legs, ball head, pan & tilt head, built in bubble level, spiked legs and comes with two quick release plates. It also is fantastically compact folding up to only 21 inches, while the min and max heights are 11 inches and 58 inches.
the only problem is that it is way too light, and is hence not suited for high wind conditions. The company claims that you can hang a weight at the bottom to the hook that is provided on the center column, but I personally dont think it is a very good idea.
So if you are looking for something that you are going to shoot with only in non windy environments (this sure includes a lot of situations), and want to have a tripod with all these features, this is a very good deal. All the things that this package comes with, make it a great value for money.
Pros, please look elsewhere and also up your budget :-) You shouldnt be looking at this price range!!
