Does the job in a pinch.......2007-02-22
While I do like this lens, when zoomed all the way out I can see the edge of the lens through the camera in a big blacked out circle around the outside edge of the video. I'm sure a larger lens would help with that, but I think it is a good compromise due to its weight which isn't as bad as some say, it balances the camera with a larger battery pack quite well.
A 2x lens is useful.......2006-03-08
BUT in this case, it is only truly useful in tele-mode. When you zoom out about half way, the sides of the lens actually start creeping in on the corners of the scene - and when fully zoomed out, the image appears to be getting shot through a length of pipe. I am using this on a Sony HDR-HC1 which has only 10x optical zoom, so the 2x this lens adds is handy - but this tunnel vision is a disappointing and unexpected side effect. When zoomed in - or anything past about half way - it does a great job and there is no tunnel-vision.

It advertises as 14" and it is completely false. 14" INCLUDES the CLEAR PLASTIC OUTSIDE THE FRAME!!!
What a rip-off. Do not think this is the real 14" display for $200! It's more like a Over-priced 7" display. Too bad it does not have 1/2-star on here!
Photo Frame Review........2007-12-22
The item was delivered on time by Amazon. The Digital frame is working fine but no where on the frame or the instruction manual does it say that this item is from Philips. Does Philips sell its products in such ambiguous way? I am not sure about the warranty either as it would be very difficult to proof that this item is from Philips.
Now I can only hope that it works fine.
