This is not a stereo microphone like Sony and Amazon web sites claim it to be. I have noticed it right away after the box has arrived. You can see for yourself that the plug is mono. I don't know why Sony claims it to be a stereo microphone on their web site.

Great picture, sound is sub-par.......2007-12-26

The picture quality is quite good, and the user interface is reasonably intuitive. Setup is very quick add you'll have it running within a minute or two of opening the box. And it has a reasonable amount of memory (1gig) Only negative I've noticed is the sound. It's thin and tinny If you want sound that compliments the picture quality, you'll need at least external speakers, if not an external amp. Also, I have not tested the video.
Bottom Line: I got this so that a family member could easily show digital photos and this covers that requirement nicely.
